Welcome to our first online hybrid Driver/Operator course! We will be utilizing the online Idaho State University class for the “PowerPoints” and will complete a minimum of four (4) hands on practical days in the Coeur d’ Alene/Post Falls area (averaging about 4 hours a day).
You will be emailed a link to our “Google online classroom” which will help organize the class for the next 8 weeks. Once you get into the classroom, you will notice that the class is organized by the week. It is your responsibility to read the chapters, watch the video’s, and complete the quizzes by the end of each week, which will end each Sunday. The next chapter assignments will open up on Mondays.
In addition, you will need to register as a “Student” on the ISU website at:
Please note: This is a high intensity class. In order to complete the class in 2 months, you will be required to read several chapters a week, watch the corresponding video’s, and complete the tests, approximately 8 hours of work per week.
If you have any questions throughout the course please email email@example.com
There will be a 1 hour meeting on March 1st at 1800 hours to go over expectations, complete paperwork, receive a book, meet the instructors, and talk about the plan for the course. The meeting will take place at KCFR Station 1 (404 N Idaho Rd, Post Falls).
The official start date will be March 5th, 2018 and will run until April 27th, 2018.
The rest of the “classroom” dates are setup on a weekly basis online. We would like you to read the chapter, watch the video, and then take the exam. You will be required to get an 80% on the exam to continue through the class and you will get 3 attempts.
The front end of this class is loaded, just over 2 hours each week in video’s in addition to reading the chapters and takin the exams.
Student will sign up for one of the two dates for each practical. We will have the number of instructors at each date based on the number of students that sign up for each time slot.
All practical times are from 0900 to 1300 unless otherwise noted.
The sign-up for each date is located in the Google Classroom under “Practical Skills.”

We are shooting for a possible IFSAC testing date of May 12, 2018. In order to be eligible to test for your IFSAC certification, you will need to already have Firefighter 1 and Hazmat Operations. You can still take this course without these classes, but this pre-requisite course applies to those wanting to certify.
We will be monitoring class participation through ISU and the exams that are submitted. If we feel you are falling behind, or if you feel that you are falling behind, please reach out to us to work it out! We understand life happens and we will do everything we can to get you on track.
Please be patient with us as this is our first “hybrid” class and don’t hesitate to contact us for anything.
